Recently we had the pleasure of chatting to Vern, dad to four daughters aged 18, 15, 12 and 7 who started coaching netball five years ago despite having no previous netball experience.
Since then Vern has mastered netball positions and the rules and has enjoyed not one but three premierships! Red Gums in 2020 and the Red Toucans in 2021 and 2022!

His favourite part of being a coach is watching the girls play as a team and spending more time with his daughters. And Vern’s advice for anyone considering becoming a coach: Don’t think about it, just do it!
